Details Surgical ICU (SICU) setting within a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center Patient ratio of 1:3 Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00) Every other weekend required No on-call responsibilities Floating to step-down unit required as needed Epic EMR used for charting Requirements Active RN license (CT or compact) required prior to start date, pending license accepted Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required Teaching hospital experience required Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred Experience with airway management, IV drips, and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required Skills needed include arterial line management, central line care, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia management/interpretation Previous charge nurse experience preferred 1 professional reference required Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients with complex, multisystem conditions Participate in cardiac monitoring and emergency response as needed No holiday RTO permitted and maximum of 5 days RTO allowed for this contract Local radius restriction is waived for this 10-week assignment Local candidates are not accepted outside of this waived period and are defined as within 75 miles of the facility Previous staff must have been gone at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler First-time travelers are accepted American Traveler Job ID P-772513.
