Preschool Teacher

First Presbyterian Day School in DeLand is seeking a Preschool Teacher who shares our mission of nurturing children in a Christ-centered environment where faith and learning grow together. The ideal candidate will create a safe, loving, and engaging classroom that encourages spiritual, social, and academic development.

Schedule Options:

• 8:00am - 4:30pm
• 8:30am - 5:00pm

Qualifications:

• CDA or higher preferred (DCF 45-hour training required before start)
• Experience in early childhood education is a plus
• Passion for guiding young children in both faith and learning

Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe and welcoming classroom environment that supports the development of independence, problem-solving, and positive peer relationships.
• Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Maintain accurate records including attendance, accident/incident reports, and developmental progress as required by school policy and DCF.
• Communicate effectively with parents through conferences, newsletters, and daily interactions.
• Collaborate with assistant teachers, staff, and administration to foster a team-oriented environment.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and licensing requirements, including DCF staff-to-child ratios.
• Model Christian values and integrate age-appropriate spiritual development activities into the classroom.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
