Position Summary

The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan under the supervision and collaboration of physicians. The PA is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions while emphasizing preventive care, wellness, and patient education.

As part of a physician-owned, primary care-focused practice, the PA works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centered healthcare.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and chronic diseases.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
• Order, interpret, and review laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with Florida laws and practice protocols.
• Perform routine office procedures within scope of practice.
• Provide preventive care, annual wellness visits, screenings, and health maintenance services.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Coordinate care with specialists and other healthcare providers as needed.
• Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and value-based care programs.
• Support population health management and chronic disease monitoring.

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Active Florida Physician Assistant license.
• Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.
• Current BLS certification.

Preferred

• Prior experience in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Primary Care.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
