Veterinary Technician

Experienced Veterinary Technician (Surgery-Focused) Dedham Veterinary Associates – Dedham, MA $27–$30/hour DOE Some technicians want to be in surgery all day. Others love the variety of general practice. If you’re sitting there thinking, “honestly… I want both,” you might’ve just found your spot. Dedham Veterinary Associates is looking for an experienced veterinary technician who enjoys a true mix of surgical and clinical work. This is a balanced role—roughly a 50/50 split—where you’ll spend meaningful time in the OR and on the clinic floor, using your full skillset. What you’ll be doing (aka where you shine) About half your time will be spent in surgery—prepping patients, assisting, monitoring anesthesia, and supporting smooth, safe procedures from start to finish. You’ll be a key part of keeping things running efficiently and confidently in the surgical suite. The other half? You’ll be fully engaged in the day-to-day of general practice—supporting appointments, handling treatments, working closely with doctors and teammates, and helping deliver excellent patient care across the board. It’s the best of both worlds: focused surgical work and the variety that keeps your days interesting. Who you are You’re an experienced technician who’s comfortable in surgery and confident in your skills. You know anesthesia, monitoring, and sterile technique—and you don’t need constant direction to do things well. You’re calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator. You take pride in your work, support your teammates, and genuinely care about the quality of medicine being practiced around you. CVT/LVT/RVT is preferred, but not required—we’re most interested in your experience and surgical skillset. Schedule & compensation Pay range: $27–$30/hour, depending on experience One evening shift per week (until 8pm) Alternating Saturdays What makes us a great place to work We’re a strong hospital and we share a building with Boston Veterinary Specialists, which means you’ll get to see complex cases, advanced procedures, and work alongside a team that values skilled technicians as an essential part of patient care—not an afterthought. There’s a strong sense of teamwork here, a lot of mutual respect, and an environment where people genuinely enjoy working together. We take our medicine seriously, but not ourselves. The good stuff (benefits) 401(k) (eligible to participate after 6mo of employment) Medical, dental, and vision insurance (effective the 1st of the month following your start date) Company-sponsored EAP Referral bonus program Employee pet care discount United Veterinary Care provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, age, mental disability, physical disability, medical condition, gender, sexual orientation, genetic information, ancestry, marital status, national origin, veteran status, and other classifications protected by applicable state and local non-discrimination laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr Animal Clinic Downtown
