Compensation: $250,000–$300,000 (DOE)

A respected Chicago law firm is looking for a Real Estate Associate with 3–5 years of commercial real estate experience to join its growing practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated deal work, wants meaningful client exposure, and values being part of a collaborative, down-to-earth team.

The group handles a wide range of real estate matters across the country, including acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, development projects, leasing, and financing transactions. The team is particularly well known for its leasing practice, including sophisticated office and retail leasing matters involving institutional owners, REITs, developers, landlords, and tenants.

The right candidate will be someone who is comfortable taking ownership of transactions, enjoys working closely with clients and colleagues, and brings a practical, business-minded approach to their work.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions from start to finish
• Draft and negotiate commercial leases on behalf of both landlords and tenants
• Work on acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and financing matters
• Advise clients across the office, retail, and industrial sectors
• Collaborate directly with partners, clients, and opposing counsel throughout transactions
• Help manage deal flow in a fast-paced but highly team-oriented environment

What the Firm Is Looking For:

• J.D. from an accredited law school
• Admission to the Illinois Bar, or eligibility to waive in
• 3–5 years of commercial real estate experience , ideally with significant leasing exposure
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage transactions independently while also working collaboratively
• Someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and genuinely enjoys client service
• A practical, entrepreneurial mindset and interest in growing as part of a long-term team
