The Clinical Research Coordinator III leads the clinical research program at the site level, effectively recruiting and enrolling research patients under the clinical direction of the principal investigator while ensuring compliance with institutional Standard Operating Procedures, protocol specifications, and good clinical practice. In addition, the Coordinator proactively develops and implements workflows to optimize recruitment, enrollment, and study execution. Delegated duties include protocol‑required visit procedures, administering questionnaires and subject material, administering and dispensing medication, adhering to regulatory guidelines, and participating in subject recruitment efforts under the oversight of the study Principal Investigator. Responsibilities Read and understand assigned research protocols, prescreen patients, train site staff on study purpose, record attendance, and evaluate resources needed to deploy the study. Proactively recruit eligible patients by communicating eligibility criteria and flagging them to referring physicians and clinic staff. Collaborate with clinic leadership and staff to identify and implement effective processes for communicating study opportunities to patients and providers. Work with central Research departments, including the Central Enrollment Team, to meet and exceed targets for referrals, consents, and enrolled patients. Obtain and document informed consent per ICH/GCP and site SOPs. Perform timely, clean data entry in accordance with the ALCOA principle (“Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original and Accurate”). Prepare for monitoring visits: Organize all Source Documents and keep them readily available. Respond promptly to monitor letters and resolve outstanding items from prior visits. Maintain current temperature and accountability logs. Ongoing study oversight and management: Plan subject visits according to the protocol‑specific schedule, avoiding protocol deviations due to out‑of‑window procedures. Ensure space and other resources are available as needed through communication with location administration. Report adverse and serious adverse events to IRB, sponsor, and management per reporting guidelines. Dispense, collect, and maintain accurate Investigational Product accountability. Collect and process subject laboratory specimens according to protocol. Complete case report forms (CRFs) and other patient tracking information accurately and promptly. Maintain a thorough understanding of all data collection instruments to collect data accurately and according to protocol. Coach and mentor Research Coordinators. Define project scope, set clear goals and expectations, prioritize activities, set milestones, and follow through to successful completion. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Work schedule and hours are determined by study needs and patient scheduling. Travel to investigator meetings or other study locations is expected; travel may be outside the local area and overnight. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Lift up to 25 pounds at a time. Qualifications MA certification preferred. Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field preferred. Good Clinical Practice and/or ITIA certification preferred. ACRP or Socra certification preferred. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Minimum 5 to 7 years of clinical research experience. Therapeutic area experience in CKD, nephrology, or vascular access a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology and research. Self‑motivated, proactive driver of patient safety, enrollment targets, timely data entry, and adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Flexibility, excellent organizational/communication skills, and attention to detail. Knowledge of and adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), IATA, and FDA regulations. Ability to perform basic clinical procedures (blood work, vitals, height, weight, etc.). Ability to perform an ECG. Multitasking ability and capacity to handle a high volume of patients across multiple studies. Open to working a flexible schedule.
