Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical Telemetry Float Pool

Location: Plattsburgh, NY

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, with every other weekend required. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas/Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day/Eve.

Job Description: We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical Telemetry Float Pool. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care while working across multiple units, including telemetry. Responsibilities will include monitoring patients, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patient vital signs and conditions in the Medical/Surgical Telemetry units.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the medical staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Chart patient data accurately in the electronic medical records system (EPIC).
• Float between multiple units as needed, including potential work in the emergency department for ED HOLD patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current RN license in New York State.
• AHA BLS certification required; CMSRN preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required prior to starting.
• Recent experience with EPIC is mandatory (within the last 2 years).
