Position Overview
Shulamith High School seeks a passionate and knowledgeable History Teacher to join our exceptional faculty. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous instruction in high school History courses
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, and curriculum aligned with New York State learning standards
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages discussion, analytical thinking, and respectful debate
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Assess student progress through a variety of formal and informal measures and communicate results to students and parents
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and departmental initiatives
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and grades
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in History or a related field required; Master's degree preferred
- New York State certification in Social Studies (7–12) required or in progress
- Prior teaching experience preferred; strong student teachers encouraged to apply
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of a Jewish day school environment
