In this position you serve as a subject matter expert and primary advocate for a specific policy chapter within the Air Force Sustainment Center (AFSC)/A4R. This role ensures accuracy, relevance, and timely updates of assigned policy content in alignment with Air Force directives and sustainment mission requirements. The Policy Chapter Champion is responsible for managing and executing internal controls using the Management Internal Control Tool Set (MICT), ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and identifying risks or control weaknesses. By facilitating coordination across functional teams, supporting policy interpretation and implementation, and driving continuous improvement, the Policy Chapter Champion helps maintain effective internal controls and promotes consistent application of policies to enhance depot maintenance effectiveness and mission readiness.

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Extensive knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.

2. Master knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.

3. Extensive knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.

4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.

5. Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.

6. Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
