Job Summaries: To assist the Nursery Lead with childcare during church activities

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essentials functions.

1. Assist in the childcare of the nursery during church activities, normally during Sunday Services from 0930-1230
2. Provide child care in the absence of the Nursery Lead
3. Maintain a safe environment
4. Support Age-appropriate activities
5. Communicate with Parents and Ministry Teams
6. Assist with organization and cleanliness—cribs, sheets, and changing table etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.      Must be able to pass a criminal background check and child protection screening

2. Must be at least 18 years old

3.      Have a High School Degree, General Education Development (GED), or equivalent; or currently pursing a High School Degree

Preferred Qualifications

1.      CPR certification inclusive of children

2.      Successful completion of babysitting course

Work Conditions:

1.   Work is performed in a church nursery or children’s ministry area , typically outfitted with cribs, changing tables, toys, and child‐safe furnishing

2. Environment is indoors and outdoors , active, and may be noisy due to children crying, playing, or moving about

3. Nursery assistants work closely with infants and toddlers , often at floor level, on low furniture, or standing for extended periods

Physical:

The role requires the ability to:

1. Lift and carry infants or small children
2. Bend, kneel, crouch, and sit on the floor
3. Stand or walk for extended periods
4. Respond quickly to children’s needs or emergencies
