job summary:

Product Development Engineer located in Huntersville, NC for a leading manufacturer of consumer goods. This role is responsible for new product development (NPD) projects for both new and existing products.

This is a long term contract opportunity with the opportunity to turn permanent. Benefits package is available.

responsibilities:

• Responsible for new product development (NPD) projects for both new and existing products

• Participate in the engineering efforts for NPD projects from conception through production launch

• Ensure the product meets or exceeds expectations from a cost, timing, and specification standpoint

• Assist in writing technical specifications for the development and implementation of new products

• Use design tools to create components and basic assemblies

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering

• Hands on prototyping/design validation model building knowledge

• CAD modeling experience (Creo preferred)

• Understanding of how to determine new product costs, capital expenses, and competitive benchmarking
