Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience and TNCC, PALS/ENPC certification.

Details

Children's Emergency Department within a dedicated pediatric hospital tower

36 beds plus 2 trauma rooms

3:1 patient ratios

Treats pediatric patients, seeing approximately 200-250+ patients per day during peak seasons

Support staff includes unit clerks, pharmacists, techs, midlevel providers, and physicians

Uses standard ER equipment specific to pediatric management

Documentation via Meditech

Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Rotating weekends required

13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours

No call requirements

Floating required, including to ED holds or inpatient units as needed per facility floating policy

Requirements

Active TX RN license or compact license required (temporary licenses not accepted)

BLS certification required

PALS or ENPC certification required

TNCC certification required

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required

Pediatric care experience required

Meditech experience preferred

Charge nurse or nursing educator leadership experience preferred

Experience performing IV insertion, in-and-out catheterization, and medication reconciliation

Additional Information

Provide high-quality emergency care to pediatric patients including trauma cases

Work in a newer facility known for a strong teamwork culture

Navy scrub color required for RNs with limited undershirt/jacket color options (white, navy, or black, no hooded garments)

No artificial nails or nail polish permitted

Hair must be worn off the shoulders and in a natural color

Visible body art should be covered whenever feasible

Visible piercings other than ear piercings are prohibited

Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted

No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
