Key Responsibilities:

Draw high-quality blood specimens from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, with precision and care.

Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing, following established protocols to ensure specimen integrity.

Explain procedures to patients in a professional, reassuring manner to create a comfortable environment and build trust.

Maintain accurate records of collections, ensuring compliance with all documentation standards.

Adhere strictly to safety and infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Perform clerical tasks such as data entry and specimen tracking to support laboratory workflow.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors by promoting process excellence, confidentiality, and attention to detail in all aspects of work.

Collaborate with team members and supervisory staff to ensure efficient daily operations and excellent patient care.

Required Skills:

Proven experience performing phlebotomy with a strong emphasis on accuracy, safety, and patient comfort.

Excellent venipuncture skills, including working with pediatric and elderly populations.

Strong communication skills, capable of explaining procedures effortlessly and compassionately.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of quality.

Proficiency in keyboarding, data entry, and electronic health records management.

Demonstrated attention to detail, confidentiality, and adherence to safety protocols.

Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or hospitality setting is preferred.

Nice to Have Skills:

Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and specimen processing.

Experience working in a clinical or hospital environment.

Bilingual skills or additional languages to serve diverse patient populations.

Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR).

Preferred Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Medical Assistant, Paramedic training, or related healthcare certification preferred.

Certification in phlebotomy is required in certain states (e.g., California, Nevada, Washington).

Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience; one year or more is preferred.

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is an asset.

Other Requirements:

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed.

Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Maintaining current certifications and licensure as required.

Ability to follow instructions carefully and demonstrate professionalism in a clinical setting.
