Industrial Painter

The Industrial Painter prepares and finishes a variety of surfaces in a manufacturing environment using industrial painting techniques and equipment. This role focuses on proper surface preparation, accurate color matching, consistent paint application, and the use of protective coatings to ensure high-quality, durable finishes that meet detailed specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying appropriate treatments to ensure proper paint adhesion.
• Operate and maintain industrial painting equipment such as spray guns and paint brushes to apply primers, sealers, and topcoats to metal and other materials.
• Mix and match paint colors and finishes according to specifications, ensuring consistency, coverage, and overall quality.
• Inspect painted surfaces for quality, uniformity, and coverage, and perform touch-ups or corrections as needed.
• Apply protective coatings to surfaces to prevent corrosion, wear, and environmental damage.
• Follow safety protocols at all times and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, and properly store paints, solvents, and tools.
• Perform routine maintenance on painting equipment and report any malfunctions or needed repairs promptly.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1+ years of industrial painting experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in industrial painting techniques, including surface preparation, spraying, and finishing.
• Ability to operate industrial painting equipment such as spray guns and paint brushes safely and effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret work orders related to painting specifications and surface preparation.
• Strong attention to detail in color matching, coverage, and finish quality.
• Commitment to following safety protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Ability to maintain and perform basic troubleshooting on painting equipment.
• Organizational skills to keep work areas clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards.
• Reliability and consistency in meeting quality standards and production timelines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxford, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
