Pride Health is hiring a Peer Specialist to support our client's healthcare facility in Brooklyn, NY.

Schedule Options:
- Tuesday- Saturday 8am-4pm
- Friday – Tuesday 8am-4pm
- Friday – Tuesday 4pm-12am
Job Type: Local Contract
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Pay Range: $24-$24/hr.
*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Duties:
- Build supportive, trust-based relationships with participants and families.
- Maintain a caseload and conduct outreach to engage participants.
- Use lived experience to support communication and encourage participation in services.
- Advocate for access to healthcare and community resources, addressing barriers to care.
- Facilitate wellness, recovery, peer support, and life skills development activities.
- Assist participants with creating wellness and recovery plans.
- Accompany participants to appointments and community-based activities as needed.
- Provide non-clinical support during crisis situations and post-discharge transitions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and referrals.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate participant needs and safety concerns.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and required trainings.
- Support participant independence, community integration, and connection to long-term resources.
- Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) — OASAS and/or OMH/CRPA certification (provisional accepted)
- CASAC Certificate
- Lived experience with the Mental Health and/or Substance Use Treatment system; willingness to share appropriately
- Active participation in peer support, self-help, or peer advocacy programs
- High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum)
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and de-escalation skills
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and exercise excellent judgment
- Trauma-informed, culturally competent approach to documentation and member needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
