Now Hiring: Maintenance Technician Location: San Diego, CA Company: NSC Staffing Send Resumes to: View email address on click.appcast.io NSC Staffing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with prior Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) maintenance experience to support preventative, corrective, and inspection maintenance aboard active U.S. Navy vessels. This position requires a self-sufficient technician who can immediately contribute in a fast-paced, production-driven shipboard environment with minimal supervision.

Position Overview The Maintenance Technician will perform shipboard maintenance in accordance with Navy Planned Maintenance System (PMS) requirements. This role supports a high-tempo work environment where technicians are expected to complete a defined number of maintenance actions each shift while maintaining accuracy, safety, and documentation standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across multiple LCS shipboard systems and can work independently while coordinating with ship's force, WAF personnel, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform PMS-based preventative and corrective maintenance aboard LCS platforms.
• Execute Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) accurately and document completed work in accordance with Navy requirements.
• Conduct inspections and troubleshooting of shipboard systems.
• Support mechanical, electrical, and general shipboard maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with Work Authorization Form (WAF) teams, ship's force, and subcontractors.
• Maintain productivity and work pace in a production-driven environment.
• Comply with all shipyard safety procedures, PPE requirements, and Navy standards.

Required Qualifications

• Prior Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) maintenance experience required.
• PQMS 301 certification required (card preferred). If not currently PQMS 301 qualified, training may be provided.
• Strong working knowledge of Navy PMS and MRC execution.
• Ability to work aboard active U.S. Navy ships.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and accuracy.

• Boat Davits and launch/recovery systems
• Auxiliary and mission-critical shipboard equipment

Work Environment

• Active U.S. Navy shipboard environments.
• Exposure to confined spaces, ladders, machinery, and varying weather conditions.
• PPE required, including hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and other gear as applicable.
• Fast-paced operational tempo with daily maintenance production targets.
