The Director of Finance maintains the financial integrity of the Association and its subsidiaries. This position also includes the oversight of all day-to-day accounting operations, as well as the supervision of outsourced accounting team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Support the CFO in providing financial data to the Executive Committee, Board of Directors and senior leaders of the Association
\n
• Manage accounting operations performed by outsourced accountants including AR, AP and monthly close
\n
• Liaise with for-profit accounting team
\n
• Prepare and publish accurate and timely monthly financial statements for IIABA and multiple subsidiaries
\n
• Research and collaborate with outsourced accountants on technical accounting issues for compliance
\n
• Analyze and communicate results of operations to internal and external stakeholders
\n
• Lead and/or collaborate on financial system projects
\n
• Manage year-end audits, working closely with external accounting firm
\n
• Oversight of tax filings of the Association and its subsidiaries
\n
• Manage and comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements
\n
• Manage cash balances between related entities and disburse funds related to operations
\n
• Administrator of financial systems – Accounting, Reporting, Planning, Procurement
\n
• Design and maintain internal control over financial activities
\n
• Continually improve and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
\n
• Enforce expense policies for staff discretionary spend and travel
\n
• Assist in coordination and direction of budget and planning
\n
• Timely and successful resolution to staff inquiries and needs
\n
• Maintain vigilance over all financial transactions and communications to avoid cyber-attack or compromise
\n
• Report investment activities and review compliance to investment policy  
\n

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

• Updated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
\n
• Maintain relationships with bank, investments, outside accounting professionals, and regulatory agencies/bodies
\n

\n

\n

Education and professional Requirements:

\n

\n
• Minimum four-year Degree in Finance/Accounting
\n
• CPA preferred
\n
• Minimum 8-10 years accounting experience, including supervision of small staff
\n
• Experience using accounting systems
\n
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
\n
• Highly organized, with experience in handling multiple projects simultaneously
\n
