We add value to our industry and the communities in which we work.Position Summary:This position is accountable for assisting in inventory management, assisting with the implementation and maintenance of the QC Plan, assisting with QC/QA project management, and supporting technical staff.Required SkillsKey Tasks and ResponsibilitiesDevelops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fieldsPlans and directs activities concerned with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and productsDevises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability dataEstablishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilitiesDevelops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibilityDirects workers engaged in measuring and testing the product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliabilityCompiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activitiesMay manage quality control programInventory managementSelecting the best techniques for a given process, determining the level of quality, and taking the appropriate steps to maintain or improve the quality of the process, if necessarySet up practices to monitor and control quality; however, other factors must be considered, such as effectiveness, cost, and productivityApply substantive expertise during pre-bid, construction, and post-construction phases of a project by working with plants/materials, construction, sales and estimating teams to ensure quality standards and project profitability are achieved.Evaluate proposed courses of action for safety, contract compliance, and profitability and propose alternative courses of action where appropriateComply with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations in order to perform duties in a safe manner.Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management.
