Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, PALS, and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details

Work in the Emergency Department of a Level 1 trauma, stroke, and STEMI center
Includes a dedicated pediatric ED within the adult ED
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
Alternating weekends and holidays required
Floating required between ED and ED Observation units
Cerner charting system preferred
Requirements

Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
CPI certification preferred (required for Behavioral Health RNs)
ATCN and TNCC certifications preferred
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with 1 year in specialty
Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
Teaching hospital experience preferred
Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration required
Experience with central line care, arterial line management, and ABG interpretation preferred
Experience managing dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring required
Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage required
Ability to ambulate, reach, and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
Ability to work assigned shifts, weekends, holidays, and be on call as required
Additional Information

Provide emergency care to a combined adult and pediatric patient population
Exposure to patients with contagious illnesses is routine in this 24/7 healthcare facility
Holiday coverage required for at least 50% of holidays occurring during the contract
Local candidates accepted, though those within 50 miles are not eligible and those 51-74 miles may qualify for local rate only
Local candidates are not eligible for contract extensions beyond the initial assignment
First-time travelers considered if they have Level I trauma experience
Maximum RTO of 10 days permitted, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation
Travelers may complete non-billable training modules during orientation and annually, averaging 4-6 hours
