A rapidly growing robotics and warehouse automation company in the Greater Boston area is hiring a full-time Physical AI Architect to lead the development of next-generation AI systems deployed on real-world robotic platforms. This role focuses on physical AI, diffusion-based policy learning, optimal control, robot manipulation, perception, planning, and hardware-integrated autonomy systems. The position offers the opportunity to define the technical vision for AI-driven robotics while working directly with production hardware, advanced machine learning models, and high-throughput warehouse automation systems.

Required Skills & Experience · Proven experience deploying AI-powered robotic systems into production environments · MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field, or equivalent industry experience · Deep expertise in diffusion models and diffusion-based policy learning for robotics applications · Strong knowledge of optimal control theory, model predictive control (MPC), trajectory optimization, and feedback control systems · Experience architecting end-to-end robotic autonomy systems including perception, planning, and control · Hands-on experience integrating AI systems with physical robotic hardware · Experience with sensor technologies including RGB-D cameras, force/torque sensors, encoders, and related systems · Experience with embedded compute platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, ARM-based systems, or similar hardware · Strong programming skills in Python and C++ · Experience with ROS 2 or similar robotics middleware frameworks · Strong understanding of real-time robotic systems and performance optimization · Excellent communication and technical leadership skills

Desired Skills & Experience · Experience deploying robot manipulation and warehouse automation systems · Expertise in score-based generative models, behavior cloning, or learning-based planning systems · Experience with actuator controls, embedded systems, and hardware/software co-design · Familiarity with FPGA-based compute architectures · Experience scaling and mentoring high-performing robotics engineering teams · Strong understanding of system observability, fault tolerance, and operational reliability · Experience working within startup or high-growth robotics organizations · Background in logistics, warehouse automation, or industrial robotics preferred
