About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Preferred acute care facility experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required Must-Have: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking and professional discretion. Employs independent judgment in patient care situations. Collects relevant data pertinent to patients' health or situation. Analyzes assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes. Implements the care plan and coordinates care delivery. Employs strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining patient outcomes. Identifies and communicates expected outcomes for patients. Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers in delivering care. Provides learning opportunities for patients and family members. Directly provides health information to patients and their families. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Commits to the safety and well-being of patients and staff. Adheres to required vaccinations as a condition of employment. Must be able to float to other departments as needed. Expectations include working every other weekend rotation and being flexible based on business needs. Responsible for assisting in various patient care roles as required.
