About the Facility: Northern Navajo Medical Center The Navajo Nation is the largest Indian tribe in the United States and has the largest reservation, which encompasses more than 25,516 square miles in northern Arizona, western New Mexico, and southern Utah, with three satellite communities in central New Mexico. The NAIHS is the primary provider of inpatient, ambulatory care, preventive and community health, and environmental health services for members of the Navajo Nation and the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe. RN ICU - RESPONSIBILITIES

• The RN ICU administers medications per RN Medication Administration Competency standards.
• Perform and verify intravenous therapy, venipuncture, and pain management procedures.
• Complete contract nurse orientation, competency verification, and billing information processes.
• The RN ICU understands and applies emergency codes and ethical concerns in healthcare.
• Follow documentation standards, verbal and telephone order protocols, and charge nurse duties.
• Maintain familiarity with Navajo cultural considerations in patient care.
• Adhere to nursing and professional practice standards.
• The RN ICU Implement and monitors patient restraints as per guidelines.

RN ICU - REQUIREMENTS

• Must possess a bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• A minimum of 36 months of nursing experience, with at least two (2) years in ICU.
• A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory, with additional certifications required based on duty section—including Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Newborn Life Support (NLS), Advanced Trauma Care Nurse (ATCN) or Trauma Nurse Critical Care (TNCC), and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.
