Special Education Teacher

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30 PM | 100% Onsite
Year-Round Position with multiple extended weekends and school holidays off

Starting Salary: Our compensation is competitive within the market. The starting rate for this position begins at $62.099.11 annually, with your final offer based on a combination of your education, relevant experience, and overall qualifications.

Position Summary

BHA Academy is seeking a passionate Special Education Teacher to support students with autism, developmental disabilities, and behavioral needs. In this role, you'll develop and lead individualized instruction, manage IEPs, partner with families and school districts, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage student IEPs
Deliver differentiated instruction based on individual learning and behavioral needs
Monitor progress and use data to adjust goals and supports
Partner with families, school districts, and interdisciplinary teams
Support and coach paraprofessionals in classroom and behavior plan implementation
Maintain classroom structure and behavior supports
Participate in IEP meetings and required documentation
Advocate for student success and transition planning

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred)
Current Missouri Special Education certification/licensure required
Autism or behavioral disabilities endorsement preferred
2+ years working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or behavioral needs preferred
Strong knowledge of IDEA/IEPs, behavior support plans, and classroom management
