Bus Attendants

Mt. Pleasant Public Schools is looking for bus attendants for morning and afternoon runs. The morning run is from 7:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Monday through Friday for up to two hours. The afternoon run is from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for up to three hours.

Responsibilities include safely caring for and protecting student passengers, conducting emergency evacuation drills as required, instructing passenger riders regarding safety with transportation, establishing favorable working relationships with parents and school staff, and other duties as assigned.

Specific abilities needed include identifying with the geographic service area of the school district and routes traveled, handling exuberant behavior characteristics of youthful riders, having good interpersonal and communication skills, administering disciplinary procedures in keeping with school district policies, being alert and exercising good judgment related to day-to-day operations and emergencies, and keeping accurate records and reports as required.

Compensation for this position will be based on experience, starting at $16.56/hour. This is an at-will, part-time position.
