Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential support as a school-based social worker on a rewarding full-time contract assignment. This role, located near Brandywine, MD, involves serving two schools, with placement tailored to your experience and location preference within the district. The contract runs from August 2026 through June 2027 and offers consistent hours—35 per week throughout the school year.

Desired Background and Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work is required.
• Valid Maryland state licensure to practice as a social worker.
• Educator certification from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), or eligibility and willingness to obtain the certification if not currently held.
• Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued, though open to strong candidates who can demonstrate relevant professional skills.
• Strong communication, crisis intervention, and advocacy abilities.
• Able to collaborate easily with multidisciplinary teams and build rapport with students, families, and school staff.
• Flexibility in working across multiple schools and adjusting to varying student needs by age group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling and support to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
• Foster strong ties between home, school, and community resources to enhance student success and wellness.
• Implement evidence-based interventions to promote positive behavioral and academic outcomes.
• Participate in student support teams, IEP meetings, and multidisciplinary discussions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all confidentiality guidelines.
• Offer crisis intervention, prevention, and referral services as needed.
