Inpatient Psychiatrist (78578)

We are seeking a full‑time Director of Inpatient Psychiatric Services to join our team at Wakulla Continuum of Care Unit located in Crawfordville, Florida, just 15 miles Southeast of Tallahassee. Responsibilities Lead inpatient psychiatric services while supervising a multidisciplinary team composed of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners and other mental health professionals. Provide inpatient or outpatient services within a state‑of‑the‑art male correctional institution. Utilize innovative programming and specialized residential mental health units to assist patients with serious mental illness. Administer psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients under the supervision of the Psychiatric Medical Director. Provide clinical leadership for a multi‑disciplinary team in delivering behavioral health services to patients with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues. Qualifications Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of an accredited residency program. Current license to practice medicine as a psychiatrist in Florida. Board Certification in Psychiatry. Active DEA registration certificate. Current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification. Ability to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable. Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as a psychiatrist in a clinical setting (preferred). Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting. Experience in correctional mental health care or locked unit (preferred). Available Shift Monday‑Friday Day Shift. All full‑time psychiatrists participate in rotational on‑call approximately every 6 to 8 weeks. The on‑call lasts for 7 days / 24 hours per day and is compensated above and beyond the guaranteed annual compensation.
