Your Impact

As a Community Health Instructor at the Arthur J Glatfelter YMCA, you’ll fuel our mission by guiding evidence-based chronic disease prevention and management programs that create meaningful impact across York. This part-time, onsite role (flexible schedule with weekday daytime hours plus occasional evenings/weekends) is built for a purpose-driven leader who loves turning health education into real community impact.

Key responsibilities include delivering sessions; welcoming and motivating participants and families; promoting programs through community outreach and partner relationships; maintaining required attendance/progress records and basic data collection; ensuring HIPAA privacy/security compliance; following YMCA safety and emergency procedures and completing incident reports; and handling class setup, equipment care, and reporting damage.

Required qualifications/skills:
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Certification in evidence-based programs (e.g., YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program, LIVESTRONG at the YMCA)
- Experience with evidence-based programming and associated data collection
- Experience with special populations; strong communication and partnership-building
- Ability to demonstrate proper exercise technique and lift up to 45 lbs
