Schedule: M-F 7am - 3:30pm

Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with a packaging company in search of an entry-level Industrial Maintenance Technician. Under general supervision, the Industrial Maintenance Technician performs cleaning area duties which include setting up and breaking down equipment used by Production to fulfill orders based on standard packaging process specifications. Some duties involve work of a confidential nature  The ideal Industrial Maintenance Mechanic has a basic understanding of the maintenance field, is mechanically inclide, organized, and skilled in the use of hand tools.  The Industrial Maintenance Technician is a full-time, direct hire position in Brooklyn Park, MN. 

Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Responsibilities: 

• Perform all general cleaning area duties, which include breakdown, wipe down, cleaning, and reassembly of equipment as described in standard operating procedures.
• Perform general equipment set-up, weight adjustment(s), etc., so that equipment is ready for Production to execute orders.
• Break down general equipment and return it to the cleaning area once Production has completed filling an order.
• Use equipment to load, unload, move, and stack materials or products.
• Attend any required on-the-job training (OJT) for each individual type of equipment used. This includes meeting the minimum required hours of use for that equipment and being signed off by a trainer and manager before being cleared to use the equipment.
• Read and understand standard packaging process specifications for packaging instructions, material handling, and shipping procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Perform any tasks and/or production duties as requested by supervisors or management.
• Wear safety shoes (toe protection/slip-resistant) and required PPE at all times.

Maintenance Mechanic Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the same or an associated field.
• Ability to read, write legibly, count accurately, and perform simple math.
• Punctual with a track record of good attendance.
• Experience with scales and pallet jacks preferred.
• Proficient with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Mechanical skills preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work as a creative, flexible, innovative, and effective team member.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. independently, and heavier loads with assistance.
