ENGEL provides excellent benefits including health, dental and vision insurance all upon first day of hire (no waiting period and very robust coverage at an affordable price), 401k with match, over 3 weeks PTO, employer paid life insurance, long and short-term disability, and an employee-centric environment.POSITION INFORMATION Job Summary: Start-up of automation cells containing various combinations of linear, SCARA, and articulated industrial robots, bowl feeders, drawer systems, conveyors, machine guarding & safety systems, as well as other custom automation equipment delivered to our customers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Assemble, install, troubleshoot, and commission industrial automation hardware and softwareAssembly and installation of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic componentsPower source and communication verificationSoftware installation and debugSafety equipment validation according to safety standards Setup of parameters, sequence, and positions of automation and robotic system.Examples: VFD & Bowl Feeder parameters, KUKA Safe-Op, FANUC DCS, etc.Ensure system performs according to sales orderEnsure quality conformance of all equipment to ENGEL standardsVerify completeness and prepare for shipment Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of automation cells & equipmentDry or full cycle of products for entire production cellCommunicate with Project Manager on performance and findingsMaintain an agreed upon run and cycle timeWork in tandem with engineers to provide any solutions necessaryPerform installation and automation cell start-up at the customer site Oversee rigging and setting of equipmentInstall mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic componentsPerform process steps to ensure performance and quality of production cellSite Acceptance Testing (SAT) and sign-off with the customer to conclude the automation cell start-up processFinal documentation and archiving of softwareHandover to local service technicianProvide system introduction (usage and service) to customer personnel (operators, technicians, engineers)Perform hardware & software retrofits to existing ENGEL automation systemsWillingness to learn ENGEL proprietary equipment & controlsAdministrativeELAKTime trackingExpense reportsCommunication methodsNavigating SAPQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSEducational/Training Requirement:Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET), Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET), Electromechanical Engineering Technology (EMET) or equivalent training & experience as a control systems integratorExperience:Minimum of two years of related experience in robotics or automation is required Preferred Robot experience: KUKA, FanucPreferred Control experience: Siemens, Allen Bradley, BeckhoffKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Excellent troubleshooting skills with high attention to detailKnowledge of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), control system processors, industrial instrumentation, control system analog & digital I/O, control system networks (EtherCAT, Ethernet, Profinet)Knowledge in graphical & ladder logic programming codeKnowledge in reading mechanical drawings, pneumatic and electrical schematicsPerform work on multiple projects and tasksArticulate technical information exchanges in both verbal and written formOperation of an overhead crane and forkliftGood communication skills as this role develops and maintains relationships both internally
