Job Summary Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas equipment. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Conduct diagnostics and make repairs on equipment in the safest, most effective way possible to avoid downtime. Provide mechanic tools of the trade as needed. Employ advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills. Employ advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills. Maintain flexibility with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Desired Experience & Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; some trade school or equivalent training desired. 3 to 5 years of mechanic experience with similar diesel equipment and/or heavy equipment or specialty lines equipment (large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC or oil & gas equipment) strongly preferred. Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location needs. Related experience may include Shop Mechanic, Mechanic, Technician, Service Foreman, Service Manager, Shop Manager, Mechanic Supervisor, Technician Supervisor, Lead Mechanic, Lead Technician, Diesel Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Service Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician, Hydraulic Mechanic, ASE Certified Mechanic, IFPS Certified Technician. Physical Demands Requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors when required by the job. Compensation $33.23-$35.23 per hour, depending on the agreed rate under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement for this location.
