Responsibilities Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items as appropriate, apply selling behaviors during transactions, and thank guests for choosing GameStop. Prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service. Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; answer calls promptly and professionally to ensure top-tier guest service. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program. Keep all store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per company guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Complete Omni-Channel orders daily. Safeguard assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety best practices, and making bank deposits as required. Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and move products to ensure representation and organization on the selling floor. Support management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS totals; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits; ensure sufficient cash and change for transactions. Check shipments for discrepancies, report to Store Manager as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls with proper labeling and packing lists. Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures and observe associate performance, providing timely feedback as needed. Qualifications Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Must be able to work alone, stand and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day. Required Job Skills And Abilities Exceptional guest service skills and genuine, friendly assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance expectations including attendance, dress, and grooming requirements. Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Self-motivation and teamwork to complete tasks timely; strong problem-solving and judgment abilities. Follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum of 3 days/week availability. Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately. Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 30 lbs to a height of at least 4 feet; stand and move up to 10 hours per day.
