TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.Position DescriptionThe Department of Pathology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) has provided anatomic pathology services to the South Plains for 40 years. Our experienced TTUHSC Faculty are experts in their fields and respected nationally for their diagnostic and academic expertise. In addition to providing consultation and pathology services, pathologists are actively involved in education, research and professional organizations, which keep them abreast of the latest advancements within their areas of expertise.The research activities of the department are broadly based and include research on the basic mechanisms of cellular injury as well as translational studies of breast and prostate cancer. The Department of Pathology's vision is to enrich the lives of others by educating students to become collaborative health care professionals, providing excellent patient care, and advancing knowledge through innovative research.We encourage Fellows who are completing their training and will be eligible for certification to apply.Major/Essential FunctionsUtilization of flow cytometry, histology, immunohistochemistry, cytogenetics, DNA sequencing and other molecular analysis to make diagnoses and predict responses to therapy;Identify cancers and blood disorders, sharing results with a muti-disciplinary team to guide treatment;Participate in quality improvement programs established by the department or hospital; andProvide instruction and education to fellows, residents, medical students and other learners.Required QualificationsMD/DO or equivalent degree.Completion of an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency program.Completion of, or current enrollment in, an ACGME accredited Hematopathology fellowship.Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Pathology.Preferred QualificationsHematopathology-trained candidates with a willingness to participate in and contribute to the Surgical Pathology sign-out service.Required AttachmentsResume / CV BenefitsTTUHSC is committed to creating an environment where our team members can do their best work, with programs and benefits to support head-to-toe well-being.
