Pay rate: $20 to $22 per hour depending on experience. Minimum 2 years of experience required. Experience in pediatric and adult phlebotomy.Summary: The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making work flow recommendations.Position Responsibilities:Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontaminationUpdating patient informationCollects and stores specimens according to established proceduresProperly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as requiredDemonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needlesFully understand all of the physicians' ordersMatches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubesLabel, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orderCheck all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correctPackage specimens for transportStores specimen sample according to required temperatureHigh School Diploma or GED minimum 2 years of experience
