Summary Drive the health, safety, and performance of our poultry operations in the field. As a Field Service Technician, you will work independently to assess flock health, conduct critical testing, and ensure strict adherence to biosecurity, food safety and animal welfare standards. You’ll play a key role in identifying opportunities for improvement, partnering with farm teams, and delivering insights that protect both animal well‑being and operational excellence. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented, proactive professional who thrives in a hands‑on environment and is passionate about maintaining the highest standards in animal care and food production. This position is located at our facility in Forsyth, Georgia. Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities Work independently with minimum supervision. Plan and complete weekly schedules within allotted time. Read maps and follow directions. Prepare reports, complete legible paperwork and submit them before required deadlines. Meet sample delivery schedule at all times. Weight flocks as needed for sampling purposes. Follow all prescribed SOPs for all job tasks, including health monitoring, weighting, cecal collection, rodent control, pesticides monitoring, and flock monitoring. Act in a professional and courteous manner, always upholding a professional and positive work image for oneself and Perdue Farms. Comply with and follow company requirements regarding bio‑security, food safety and poultry welfare programs and policies always. Manage company vehicle and operate in a safe manner complying with all Perdue, state and federal requirements/policies and use it only for work‑related purposes. Work with and handle cutting utensils such as scissors and knives during sample collection. Maintain a safe working environment. Minimum Education And Experience Must have a valid driver’s license with no points. Certified copy of state driver’s record for the past seven (7) years required before being employed. Ability to think ahead. Analyze and resolve problems at a functional level. Knowledge of and ability to implement modern processes & techniques and quality improvement processes. Provide strong customer orientation. Communicate to all levels of the organization, including producers, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Preferred Education And Experience Associate’s or bachelor’s degree. 2‑4 years of previous work experience. Physical Requirements And Environmental Factors Must be a member of the Avian Influenza Depopulation Team and must get a flu shot. Work environment includes moving in an upright position and working on soil, wet, moist, dry, greasy floors including concrete, metal and plastic grating surfaces for up to four hours in a single interval. Must be able to lift, control, and carry 80 lbs. Exposure to temperature ranges of 28 °F to 100 °F with both ambient and 100 % humidity. Exposure to noise up to 100 dB and light intensity range of 100‑foot candles. Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting and grasping varies in repetitions, distances, degrees, angles, weights, height, intervals of time, objects grasped and body positions depending upon the task being performed. Exposure to chlorinated water 5 ppm, caustic detergents, lubricating oils, salt and other chemicals found in poultry processing.
