Assembler II

The Assembler II assembles medical devices across two or more product lines while meeting established quality and production standards. This role follows written procedures, maintains accurate production documentation, supports continuous improvement efforts, and works in a clean room environment in accordance with safety, quality, and manufacturing requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble medical devices on two or more product lines at or above established production standards.
• Follow written line procedures, quality system policies, and supervisor or lead instructions.
• Complete and maintain accurate manufacturing records, including Device History Records, data sheets, and lot control documentation.
• Adapt to changes in procedures, product lines, and technology updates.
• Cross-train on additional product line operations as needed.
• Assist Assembler III or the Lead with training activities as requested.
• Support Lean Manufacturing practices to help improve established metrics.
• Notify the lead or supervisor of material shortages in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following housekeeping, ergonomics, job rotation, tool handling, preventive maintenance, and safety practices.
• Maintain acceptable attendance and work overtime or varying shifts as needed.
• Use work time effectively and remain focused on assigned operations.
• Participate in shared leadership activities such as Kanban management, calibration, and metrics board maintenance.
• Perform other essential duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO-certified assembly experience preferred.
• In lieu of a high school diploma or equivalent, 2 to 3 years of previous medical device assembly or ISO-certified assembly experience required.
• Ability to communicate with supervisors, leads, and team members by phone, email, or in person.
• Ability to understand verbal and written work instructions.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment and follow clean room practices and procedures.
• Ability to perform repetitive work according to established procedures, sequence, and pace.
• Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Lean Manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of documents and processes.
• Fine motor skills, dexterity, and hand-eye coordination to assemble small parts and subassemblies using both hands.
• Ability to operate manufacturing and measurement equipment after appropriate training, including microscopes, test equipment, EFDs, ultrasonic welders, soldering irons, dial calipers, pressure gauges, and rulers.
• Basic Microsoft Windows skills and ability to use site-specific computer programs after training.
