Job Description:

The Breakfast Host meets and greets breakfast guests as they arrive and thanks them when they depart. The host directs guests through the breakfast bar as needed.  Cleans and maintains Breakfast station and restocks items as necessary. The person in this position must be able to roll their sleeves up and assist our teams when needed, living our “ONE TEAM. ONE VISION.” philosophy. This person must also provide innovative ways that align with our mission to be the best, most respected hotel company in America.

• Complete all required brand specific training 
• Complete all required Vision University training 
• Complete all required health and safety training 
• Adhere to all Vision Hospitality Group and property specific brand standards 
• Perform any other duties as requested by management to aid in better operation of the hotel and service to the guests 
• Provide personalized, friendly service to each and every guest 
• Keep an ongoing inventory of all food items and supplies needed 
• Prepare food items for service at breakfast according to occupancy 
• Maintain a consistent and complete stock of food and beverage items during breakfast hours 
• Set up service area each day in accordance with Brand standards 
• Clear and clean tables as they are vacated during breakfast hours 
• React immediately and appropriately to all spills and accidents in breakfast area 
• Wash all serving equipment and store appropriately each day 
• Properly store all reusable food items each day 
• Keep the pantry and breakfast storage area clean, safe and sanitary 
• Wipe down tables/chairs, dust fixtures/windowsills/baseboards, empty trash and mop/vacuum 
• Thoroughly clean and maintain areas each day or as needed as pertains to breakfast service 
• Be aware of current events occurring in area and attractions in which guests can partake 
• Have complete knowledge of all hotel policies, services, and amenities  

Necessary Skills:

• Keep confidential the business functions of the company including, but not limited to, financial status, customer/guest information, associate issues, etc. 
• Must be responsible for safety and security of guests, fellow associates, and hotel assets 
• Have knowledge of fire alarm system and evacuation procedures. 
• Have dependable transportation available 
• Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in person 
• Able to work a flexible schedule. We are a 24/7 business which may require work availability of nights, weekends, and holidays 
• Is organized, honest, works well with others, and has an outgoing personality 
• Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniform, and person 
• Has the highest degree of integrity and is humble, living by the Golden Rule
• Able to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
• Values of dedication, innovation, showing respect, being driven by excellence, being community-focused, and having a spirit of service.
• Be able to bend, reach, kneel, push, and stretch and lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds 
• Can stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment 
• Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far 
• Must be comfortable using a step stool or ladder 
• Must be able to use/lift arms for up to 8 hours 
• Must be able to handle heat and stress 
• Have finger dexterity for operating equipment 
• Must speak in a clear, understandable voice, hear at a basic level, and understand English 
• Must be able to write
