Electronics Assembler

The Electronics Assembler builds high-quality electronic assemblies and subassemblies by following detailed work instructions, work orders, and sample assemblies. This role involves using hand and power tools to assemble mechanical and electrical components, perform wiring and soldering tasks, and ensure that finished products meet specified electrical and dimensional requirements in a clean, steady-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret work orders, sample assemblies, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to determine materials, tools, and assembly steps.
- Pull and organize parts for shop floor orders to ensure timely and accurate assembly of units.
- Position and align parts in fixtures or other holding devices, ensuring components are placed in the correct orientation and relationship to each other.
- Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, solder, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place according to specifications.
- Mount assembled electronic components such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets on chassis panels or other mounting surfaces.
- Connect component lead wires to printed circuit boards or route and connect wires between individual components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
- Install finished assemblies or subassemblies into cases, cabinets, and panels, ensuring proper fit and secure mounting.
- Assemble and attach hardware such as caps, clamps, knobs, switches, and other mechanical components to completed assemblies.
- Perform intermediate assembly tasks as required to support the overall build process.
- Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
- Use hand and power tools, including tape measures, crimpers, soldering tools, and other shop equipment, safely and effectively.
- Read a tape measure, mark locations accurately, and make precise hole punches for mounting and assembly.
- Follow wiring standards and applicable electrical codes when routing, terminating, and securing wiring and harnesses.
- Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and completeness, maintaining strong attention to detail throughout the assembly process.
- Work at a steady pace to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain good attendance and reliability to support consistent production schedules.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- At least 1 year of mechanical assembly experience.
- At least 1 year of manufacturing or production experience.
- At least 1 year of experience utilizing hand and power tools.
- Proficiency in electronic assembly, including working with circuit boards, wiring, and harness assembly.
- Experience with soldering and electrical assembly, including electrical wiring and harnessing.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Ability to read a tape measure, mark spots accurately, and make precise hole punches.
- Strong attention to detail and quality in all assembly tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed for materials and assemblies.
- Comfort using hand tools, power tools, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and mechanical components.
- Reliable attendance and the ability to work consistently during assigned shifts.
- Experience in panel building or cabinet assembly.
- Knowledge of wiring standards and electrical codes.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment beyond the minimum 1 year preferred.
- Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, including both mechanical and electrical components.
- Familiarity with crimping, harness assembly, and routing wires in accordance with standards.
- Experience working with microscopes or magnification tools for detailed assembly work.
- General labor and build experience in an industrial or production setting.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and adapt to intermediate assembly tasks as needed.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean production environment where you work at a steady, consistent pace assembling electro-mechanical products. The standard schedule is a first-shift assignment, typically from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing predictable daytime hours. You will regularly use hand and power tools, tape measures, soldering equipment, crimping tools, and measuring devices such as micrometers, as well as work with circuit boards, wiring, and mechanical hardware. The dress code requires long pants, such as jeans or khakis, suitable for a production setting. The environment supports safe, organized, and detail-oriented work, with clear procedures and expectations to help you succeed in your role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
