We are seeking an experienced Sit-down Forklift Operator for a fast-paced warehouse distribution facility.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school education or GED equivalent preferred but not required, with 1yr manufacturing with shipping and receiving experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position. Two years forklift experience required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The main job duties involved:

• Receives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips and assists with unloading as necessary.
• Inspects and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods.
• Accepts or returns merchandise according to established company procedures.
• Organizes distribution and shipping of merchandise. Makes necessary verifications against documents, unpacks and routes goods to appropriate storage areas.
• Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods as needed.
• Maintains internal record-keeping systems.
• Assembles containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions.
• Knows proper shipping procedures for transportation of goods.
• Takes inventory, maintains storage area, organizes and places stock on shelves. Ensures area is secure at all times.

This job requires occasional heavy lifting (up to 50-75 pounds).

This job includes constant movements and walking for 10 hours per day with the exception of a 30-minute lunch period and two 15-minute breaks.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Warehouse / Distribution facility with fast-paced workflow. The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Forklift operator experience is required.

INTERACTIONS :

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos, ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one setting to customers and fellow employees.

TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED:

Employees to attend as required any routine safety orientation and other company training that is deemed necessary for this position.
