Benefits Specialist

Type of Employment: Temporary (Approx. 5 Months) In Office/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid Job Summary: LHH is working with a client to hire a temporary Benefits Specialist to provide coverage for a leave. This role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration of leave programs and ensuring a seamless experience for employees throughout the leave process. The position will start in late July or early August and will include a transition period for training and knowledge transfer. This role is focused on core operational responsibilities rather than strategic or leadership functions. If this role is a fit to your experience, please click apply to submit a resume for review. Responsibilities: Administer leave of absence programs including FMLA, ADA, state leave, parental leave, and personal leave Manage and respond to employee and HR inquiries through the shared leave mailbox Coordinate with employees, HR, payroll, and third-party administrators regarding leave status, documentation, and return-to-work timelines Support the ADA interactive process and assist with accommodation requests Monitor active leave cases to ensure compliance and timely follow-up Maintain accurate leave trackers, documentation, and audit records Assist with parental leave tracking and compliance reviews Partner with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure smooth case management Required Experience: Experience administering leave of absence programs including FMLA, ADA, Workers’ Compensation, and state leave regulations Knowledge of compliance requirements such as COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA Experience working with employees, HR partners, payroll, and third-party administrators Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to analyze and present data Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to connect with individuals at all levels Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
