Senior Backend Software Engineer

To enhance the loan origination and reporting systems, the remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will build and scale data platforms and services, ensuring real-time processing and accurate reporting while leading a team through complex problem-solving and project delivery. Key responsibilities Own and deliver quarterly goals, guiding the engineering team through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle, articulating technical constraints and making informed decisions Proactively identify and advocate for solutions to project, process, technology, or business issues, while fostering a culture of quality and ownership within the team Required qualifications 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching scalable backend systems using languages like Python or Kotlin Proven track record with highly available distributed systems utilizing technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes Expertise in designing and operating scalable backend data pipelines and batch processing systems using frameworks like Spark or Airflow Experience in defining technical plans for significant feature deliveries with a focus on elegant and extensible design Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience Virtual Vocations Inc
