Job Title Ultrasound Technician Location Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, 94 Old Short Hills Road, Livingston, NJ 07039 Department Ultrasound Job Type Full‑Time, Day Shift, Hourly Pay Range $51.94 - $63.80 per hour (anticipated hourly wage range for this position in New Jersey) Job Overview Sonographers provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound equipment. The sonographer is competent in the production and analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. In addition, the individual must be prepared to render quality patient care by exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of sonographic services. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of sonography Certifications and Licenses Required Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or Registry eligible Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider certification through the American Heart Association Scheduling Requirements Full Time Days Essential Functions Prepares and sends specimens to labs in the absence of the secretary. Prepares exam rooms before patient entry and cleans rooms after patient exit. Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures by assisting them onto the table and instructing them in the procedure being performed. Selects and records appropriate images for the permanent records. Competes in the production and analysis of ultrasound images used by physicians for patient diagnosis and treatment. Provides quality patient care by exercising discretion and judgment in the performance of sonographic services.
