Engineer III - Electrical

Position OverviewPower your future with Qualus in our Engineering departmentas an Engineer III - Electrical. As Electrical Engineer you will work with several departments in different geographies to perform power system studies including short circuit and equipment evaluation, overcurrent coordination and protection, arc flash, load flow, motor starting, power quality, and harmonic analysis. Additionally, using strong communication and project management skills, you will present the results from these studies to internal and external customers, helping to design cost effective mitigation solutions.ResponsibilitiesPerform Short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies for commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and generation facilities using SKM, ETAP, and/or Easypower softwareApplies knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers, circuit breakers, panel boards, and disconnects to determine cost effective mitigation solutions from the results and recommendations of power system studiesDevelop study reports and communicate results and recommendations to customersPerform data collection activitiesDevelop and/or implement arc flash mitigation designsInterpret new construction drawing packagesDevelop relay protective setpoints and settings filesDevelop and/or update equipment control schematics, one lines, three lines, and wiring diagramsSuccessfully execute small to medium sized projects with limited oversightSelf-manage assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimatesEffectively communicate with other departments and customers to assure activities are properly coordinatedMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related from an ABET accredited school4 or more years of experience performing power system studies and associated data collection activities for industrial customersExperience with SKMMust have ability to work independently, accurately, and have high attention to detailStrong communication skills and the ability effectively discuss technical recommendations with customersStrong computer skills#LI-MM2Benefits & CompensationQualus offers a competitive benefits package for eligible employees, which may include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short- and Long-Term Disability coverage, Retirement Savings Plans (including employer matching where applicable), Flexible Spending and/or Health Spending Accounts, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), Parental Leave, Paid Time Off, and Company Holidays.
