Med Surg Neuro RN 

Basic Requirements

• Specialty: Med Surg Neuro RN
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg Neuro experience required.
• First-Time Traveler: Not Accepted
• Illinois RN License: Active IL RN License required before submission
• Certifications Required:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
• Shift: 3x12 Days
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float: Yes, within scope as needed
• On-Call: No
• Charting System: Cerner (Required)
• Locals Accepted: Yes (No radius restriction)

IV Therapy

Medication Experience

• Heparin
• Insulin
• PCA (Patient Controlled Analgesia)

Neuro Experience

• CVA/Stroke
• Pre/Post Neuro Surgery
• Spinal Cord Injuries
• Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
• Surgical Drains

Respiratory Skills

• Chest Tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac)
• CPAP/BiPAP
• Nasal Cannula
• Non-Invasive Airway Management

• Pre/Post Thoracic Surgery
