Summary of Job (brief Description) The Rare Disease Specialist will drive year two commercialization of DCCR and sales initiatives for Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS), engaging healthcare professionals and serving as a resource to caregivers and families by providing education on Soleno’s therapies. Responsibilities Engage a medical specialist pool to build market development, raise brand awareness, and execute a territory strategy/account plan. Develop and implement a territory strategy rooted in existing relationships and awareness building. Conduct regular field visits; address issues and maintain communication. Engage providers across pediatric endocrinology, adult endocrinology, psychiatry, and primary care for PWS. Identify and enroll new and existing patients in treatment programs. Segment clinics and identify key stakeholders within target institutions. Build relationships with HCPs, office staff, caregivers, and families; gather insights and conduct post-call analysis. Use emotional intelligence to adapt communication for HCPs and advocacy groups. Monitor and report territory market dynamics (prescriber opinion, competitive activity, PWS landscape). Report sales activities, performance metrics, and competitive insights to sales management. Collaborate across commercial departments (e.g., Patient Services, Medical Affairs). Tailor tactics to meet quarterly and annual targets. Prioritize and manage time/resources to engage rare-disease healthcare professionals. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations during sales activities. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PWS and the healthcare landscape. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Background in nursing, social work, nutrition (RD), or related field with rare disease experience is a plus. 5–7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience with proven sales track record. Previous launch experience highly preferred. Prior rare genetic disease or specialty sales experience highly preferred. Compassionate approach to patient care and provider awareness. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. Strong analytical, communication, and influence skills. Ability to travel 60%. Compliance/regulatory training background preferred.
