The role involves providing specialized post-anesthesia care to patients following surgical procedures, ensuring safety and comfort during their recovery. Job Details Position: Registered Nurse (RN) in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) located in Wichita, KS Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week Start Date: 09/22/2026 End Date: 12/22/2026 Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, a minimum of 1-year current acute care hospital PACU RN experience, and at least 1 year of work experience in a similar role. Responsibilities include providing patient care in the recovery room, assisting with post-operative protocols, and ensuring patient safety during recovery. The unit features a 30-bed capacity with a staff consisting of 1 CNC/Charge nurse and 12 nurses on day shift, and 2 nurses on night shift (sometimes on call). Candidates should have flexibility with hours and prior Meditech experience is preferred. Typical procedures performed include craniotomies and orthopedic surgeries. On-call is required with a 30-minute response time when on-call. Candidates must have a great attitude, excellent stress management skills, and prioritize patient experience.
