Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
Weekend/Guarantee: 48-hour guarantee may be considered

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, high-quality care to Emergency Department patients utilizing the Nursing Process and in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, and established procedures.

The RN demonstrates critical thinking, clinical judgment, and leadership in anticipating patient needs and planning for the safe delivery of care. The nurse maintains clinical competency through continuing education, delegates patient care responsibilities based on the education and experience of available staff, and provides appropriate direction and supervision to assigned personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills in an emergency care setting.
• Anticipate patient needs and prioritize care to ensure safe and effective treatment.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities appropriately based on staff competency and experience.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned nursing and support personnel.
• Maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and professional development.
• Follow hospital policies, procedures, and applicable state Nurse Practice Act requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using the facility's electronic medical record system.
• Be willing to float to other departments as needed.

Required Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona. Minimum 2 years of RN experience. Emergency Department experience preferred. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required. Willingness to float as needed. Experience with Cerner preferred. Must be available to work night shifts. Preferred Qualifications Charge Nurse experience preferred. Cerner EMR experience preferred. NIH certification is recommended but not required.
