Make a positive difference by utilizing your expertise in occupational therapy within a dynamic school setting on a contract basis near Greenwich, CT. Your specialized skills will help students gain confidence and independence, empowering them to reach their full potential in the classroom and beyond.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license
- Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents in educational environments
- Familiarity with occupational health and relevant assessment tools
- Ability to develop customized treatment plans based on individual student needs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and other specialists
- Effective time management and organizational abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs related to fine motor skills, self-care, sensory processing, and overall participation in school activities
- Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies in collaboration with educational teams
- Monitor and document progress, adjusting treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes
- Provide consultative support to teachers and staff to foster accessible learning environments
- Educate families and caregivers on ways to support students’ therapeutic goals at home and in the community
