Experienced Auto Glass Technician - Replacement + ADAS Hunt Glass - Salt Lake, Davis, Weber, Summit & Utah Counties

Pay: $22 - $45/hour base pay, plus performance bonuses and optional 

Commissions

Paid weekly

Hunt Glass is a growing mobile auto glass company looking for an experienced auto glass replacement technician who combines excellent technical ability with something we value just as highly: exceptional customer service and people skills.

This is not a sales job.

Your main responsibility is to install auto glass safely, correctly, and professionally while providing an exceptional customer experience.

But we believe the very best technicians do more than install glass.

They make customers feel taken care of. They communicate clearly. They are friendly, respectful, honest, and professional. They leave customers genuinely happy they chose Hunt Glass.

Those are the technicians customers remember.

They earn better reviews, generate more referrals, and create customers who come back to Hunt Glass again and again and recommend us to their friends and family.

That's the kind of technician we're looking for.

Base pay: $22–$45 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, equipment, and employment arrangement.

For experienced W-2 technicians using company equipment and vehicles, base pay may easily be in the mid-to-high $20s or above , depending on experience and business needs.

The upper end of the range is generally reserved for highly experienced technicians who provide their own suitable vehicle and tools and work under an appropriate independent-contractor arrangement.

Pay is weekly.

In addition to base pay, we offer:

• Performance bonuses 
• Opportunities for advancement 
• Significant optional commissions for identifying additional legitimate auto glass work

A proactive technician can meaningfully increase weekly earnings through these commissions.

Again, this is not a sales job.

You are being hired to be an excellent auto glass technician and provide an outstanding customer experience.

However, because our work is 100% mobile, technicians naturally encounter opportunities for additional work.

For example, while replacing a customer's windshield, you may notice that:

• Another vehicle at the home has a rock chip 
• Another windshield needs replacement 
• A long crack may be repairable 
• A family member has damaged auto glass 
• A neighbor or friend needs auto glass work

When you identify legitimate additional work that results in business for Hunt Glass, you can earn significant commissions in addition to your regular pay.

These commissions are completely optional.

A technician who simply wants to perform the installations assigned to them professionally can still earn a very competitive wage.

However, technicians who are proactive, excellent with people, and comfortable mentioning genuine additional needs may be able to significantly increase their weekly pay .

Integrity is non-negotiable at Hunt Glass.

We never want a technician recommending unnecessary work just to earn a commission.

We do not teach, encourage, or tolerate dishonest, misleading, high-pressure, or gimmicky sales practices.

We expect our technicians to put the customer's best interest ahead of their own commission .

If work is not needed, tell the customer.

If something can safely and appropriately be repaired rather than replaced, explain that option honestly.

If you notice genuine additional work that would benefit the customer, explain it clearly and let the customer make an informed decision.

We believe the people who operate this way ultimately do the best anyway.

Customers remember technicians they trust. They request them again, leave stronger reviews, come back when they need future work, and refer their friends, family, and coworkers.

Our goal is not to maximize a single transaction.

Our goal is to build customers and relationships that last for years .

• Replace windshields 
• Replace door glass, back glass, and quarter glass 
• Perform removals and installations according to proper industry procedures 
• Follow proper urethane and Safe Drive-Away Time requirements 
• Protect customer vehicles and property throughout each job 
• Inspect completed work carefully 
• Provide exceptional customer service 
• Communicate clearly with customers before and after installation 
• Complete accurate job documentation 
• Take required photos and documentation 
• Collect payment when required 
• Maintain clean and professional equipment and work areas 
• Communicate promptly with office staff when issues arise Identify legitimate opportunities for additional auto glass work when appropriate

• At least 1 year of professional auto glass installation experience 
• Demonstrated ability to replace windshields independently 
• Experience working on a variety of vehicle makes and models 
• Strong knowledge of proper auto glass installation procedures 
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record 
• Ability to work independently in a mobile environment 
• Reliable and punctual 
• Detail-oriented 
• Honest and professional 
• Strong commitment to quality workmanship 
• Excellent customer-service and people skills

We are especially interested in technicians with several years of experience who are comfortable handling both common installations and more difficult vehicles.

ADAS calibration experience is a significant plus.

We are especially interested in technicians who have experience with:

• Forward-facing camera calibration 
• Static calibration 
• Dynamic calibration 
• Pre-scans and post-scans 
• Calibration documentation 
• Identifying when calibration is required after windshield replacement

ADAS experience is preferred but not required for an otherwise outstanding replacement technician.

Experience in any of the following is a plus:

• Rock chip repair 
• Long-crack repair 
• Rust remediation 
• Difficult removals and installations 
• Moldings and specialty glass 
• Insurance documentation 
• Mobile auto glass service 
• Fleet or dealership work 
• Tesla or other specialized vehicle glass 
• ADAS diagnostics and calibration

• A professional rock chip repair kit 
• Rock chip repair training 
• Long-crack repair training 
• Additional support as you develop those skills
