Quality Control Supervisor

Openwork is hiring for a local manufacturing partner in Charlotte, NC!We are seeking a qualified Quality Control Supervisor with a strong background in metal fabrication, welding inspection, and quality management. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing inspection operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards, developing team members, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesLead and enforce company quality standards, safety requirements, and policies.Supervise, train, mentor, and develop Quality Control personnel.Manage employee performance, attendance, PTO requests, and disciplinary actions.Schedule and prioritize inspection activities to support production demands.Communicate inspection status and quality concerns with production and leadership teams.Oversee inspections for incoming materials, machining, forming, welding, assembly, finishing, and final products.Review engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.Verify dimensions, material compliance, and workmanship standards.Maintain quality documentation, Material Test Reports (MTRs), and inspection records.Manage non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.Coordinate calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.Interface with customers, auditors, and third-party inspectors.Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality and operational efficiency.Support procurement of quality tools, materials, and supplies.Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.QualificationsMinimum 5 years of supervisory experience leading teams of 3 or more employees.10+ years of inspection experience, including visual, dimensional, and NDE inspections.AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.Strong knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes, including welding, machining, bending, and assembly.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.Experience with AWS D1.1, AWS D1.6, and ASME Section IX codes.Familiarity with carbon steel and stainless-steel fabrication.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and leadership abilities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).ERP system experience required; Epicor experience is highly preferred.Ability to perform construction and machining-related calculations.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.EducationHigh School Diploma or GED required.Preferred ExperienceQuality leadership within a fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial environment.Experience managing quality systems, audits, and inspection programs.Knowledge of electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS).Why Apply?Competitive pay based on experienceLeadership opportunity with a growing manufacturerStable, long-term career opportunityCollaborative team environmentOpportunity to make a direct impact on quality and operational successApply today to learn more about this exciting Quality Control Supervisor opportunity in Charlotte, NC! #J-18808-Ljbffr
