We are looking for a detail-oriented Part-Time Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Fremont, California. This opportunity is ideal for someone who brings strong knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entry preparation, and corporate tax processes while working effectively in a part-time capacity. The person in this role will help maintain accurate financial records, support tax-related filings, and contribute to the overall reliability of day-to-day accounting functions.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries to keep financial records accurate, timely, and properly documented.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to support clean and reliable month-end reporting.
• Assist with corporate tax activities, including gathering financial data and supporting tax return preparation.
• Manage sales tax reporting tasks by reviewing transactions, organizing supporting information, and helping ensure timely filings.
• Maintain accounting schedules and supporting documentation to strengthen audit readiness and internal recordkeeping.
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper classification in accordance with established accounting practices.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to obtain required information, resolve accounting questions, and support ongoing finance operations.• Experience in a staff accountant or similar accounting role with hands-on responsibility for day-to-day financial activities.
• Working knowledge of general ledger processes, account reconciliation, and journal entry preparation.
• Practical experience supporting corporate tax matters, including exposure to corporate tax return activities.
• Familiarity with sales tax reporting requirements and related transaction review.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize records and maintain accuracy across multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in standard accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for financial analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work independently in a part-time role while meeting deadlines and maintaining consistent communication.
